David Brown
David Brown is an artist and printmaker living and working in Cambridge. He has exhibited in London and elsewhere in the UK. His print "Siena 2006" was awarded The Thor Adam Goodall Memorial Award for prints and etchings in The Eastern Open 2008 exhibition.
He trained as an artist at The Cambridge School of Art and The (then) London College of Printing, University of the Arts, London.
Many of his prints, including the prize-winning series "Metamorphosis," are abstract, concerned with rhythm and randomness, colour and tonal perception. Some exploit the emergent behaviour of simple mathematical models, (he was a biomathematician before becoming an full-time artist.)
He is also inspired by figurative subjects, ranging from large scale architecture to intimate portraits.
